the spot is not walker or wheel chair accessible so if you are a fast walker you can beat 'em to it! I'm going to do a little research Monday at the museum located there.

One major hurdle, is who owns the land, now.

If it's privately owned, there's a chance of negotiating access to investigate and retrieve any artifacts.

If it's government owned (Federal, State, County), then good luck with the miles of red tape...

At Tinker AFB there was a legendary case in the mid-50's. They had a number of P-47N's stored on the base and offered some up for auction. A man bid on them, won the bid, and then drained the avgas out of the full tanks on the airplanes, sold it, and the proceeds from the gasoline sale paid for the cost of the airplanes.

In 1955 the USN sold off its F8F Bearcats for $500 each.

Also in 1955 the US railroads sold off their remaining steam engines for $500 each and that included permission to use the RR lines to drive them to their final destinations.

Hi, in '68 my Dad took me Quail hunting at the spot where a bunch of B-17's and P-51's were bull dozed into a pit and buried, In the mid '50's He was a MP guarding the tarmac in North Texas when a Tornado sucked a bunch planes down the runway, He held onto a plane Tie Down ring and was almost Toast, (before I was born). Later He saw them bulldoze into a large pit and buried, neat story, I know exactly where it is, you can see it on google earth/maps. So I'm 62 now and disabled. So It would be nice to have someone check it out before I die again. I bet a bunch of those Plane parts are still good, email me sometime, I'm the only person alive who knows where they are buried.

I know the location if it's the old Carswell AFB. Now NAS Fort Worth JRB.

There are two location on the map named dump site 3&4 back in the late 2000 an aircraft frame started to emerge in a black plastic after some have rains.

The location between the flight line and Walmart area.
