| Bf 109G-6 Yellow 1 of 9./JG 54 Oblt Schilling Gruppe Build This will be the start for me in the Group build Hase 1/32 St17 with a Verlinden kit added.I think this makes me about a class 2 but if I start to add some other scratch I guess the mods move me to a 1?

| Looks good Javlin! As for the level, I'd say it depends on your ability rather than the accessories you'll be using - I'll be scratch building and converting a bit, myself, but I'm definitely not a class 1!!! |

| So I found the answer in one of the old Action books Erich JG 1 Red__________ JG 51 Gr/Wh/Gr JG 3 White_________ JG 52 Red/Wh JG 4 Bl/Wh/Bl _______JG 53 Black JG 5 Bl/Yel__________JG 77 Wh/Gr JG 11 Yellow ________JG 300 Bl/Wh/Bl The book states that the bands did not really showing themselves till the summer 1944 thus the reason Hartmanns plane did not have them. The kit ST17 depicts something early 10/43 and that JG 52 was part of "Reichsverteidigund"="defense of the Reich".I might still look for some other decals employing the Red/Wh band as long it's still G6 of course.Kevin

| The Fujimi kit is a nice one Kevin...take care in fitting the cowling pieces to get the position of the cowl bulge just right! Don't recall JG 52 using their Red/White bands.....

| Not much to post a couple of pics.i have gotten started on two of the three pits so far.I still need to do some highlights to bring some things out On this pic it's the quad on the left side I just did not like the nobs so the inner got cut off and some scrap PE with white glue on the end.The main one to the rear the handle was thinned and button shaved to scale. ![]() This pic shows the Verlinden fit to the left with PE pedals and foil straps and the kit version on the right straps will be added here also. The engine bay is going to be a challenge with all the plumbing. The Verle kit is OK but damn the instructions suck for placement of parts. ![]() Oh yea could not myself find any pics of JG52 with defense bands so have ordered and decided on Yellow 1 of JG54 flown by Schilling Aircraft illustration
