cheers guys i took the pics with my daughters web cam thats why there so small, i think i'll go back to my camera.

now a couple questions did the aircraft always have the ETC bomb rack fitted or did they ever fly without it ?
i ask because the one in the kit seems very large for the scale

and does anyone have a profile of a similar A-8 so i have some sort of reference for painting the RLM75/76 colours

These ETC racks were used when a plane carried bombs or the additional fuel tak was mounted. Most A-8s carried the rack. But if there isn't any proof of it you can always omit it.

Here some patterns for RLM74/75/76 camo scheme.

Nice profiles Wojtek!
Karl, far as I know, at that period, in that role, and particularly that aircraft(!), the ETC rack would have been fitted. If the kit part looks more or less to the proportions in Wojtek's profiles, it should be OK. I'll e-mail some stuff that might help with the cammo pattern.

thanks guys

i think i'm gonna leave off the ETC rack, the long part that runs along the belly looks ok but the parts that the fuel tank sits between seems massive !

ill try and take some pics tomorow in daylight foreveryone to see and also show what progress i've made

Sadly the kit is not enough accurate..There are mistakes that have to be corrected if it has to be a Fw190A-8.The A-6 not to mention at all.

Now I understand.Your model is of 1/72 scale right? So you should have made all paints you used lighter by adding one or two drops of white. Therefore the RLM76 seems to be much greenish than it was in realty.
Now I have to tell something about the profiles and colour pics in the Net.It is impossible rater to set a proper tonality of a colour using coputers. Why? Because it can be displayed in different ways on different monitors and depends on a display settings, its kind etc....For instance I use CRT monitor SyncMaster 743s and all clours look really different comparing to my friend's LCD monitor. That's way all people , not in the forum only, have had problems with it.All profiles and pics have to be treated as a general hint for painting but not the rule.
