*** finished FW190D-9, 'Black 12' of Ltn. Theo Nibel, 10/JG54.

I've just realised I hadn't posted this as 'finished', so here we go!
As it's a non-competing entry, I've exercised some 'freedom' in the use of the final pics - so there!!

WAW impressive.

Is it snow on the ground?
If you want I have my little trick for it ; take some "bicarbonnate de soude" (sorry I don't know the english term) and after putting it on the diorama diffuse some hair spray on it "et voilà" !

Good job

Thanks very much guys!
DFM, yes, it's representing melted snow and ice that has re-frozen. I have used other materials in the past, including bicarbonate of soda (bicarbonnate de soude), but to get the right, almost transparent effect at the edges, this time I used PVA glue, which was painted in various shades of white and grey. The ice-covered 'puddles' were painted, then glazed with Johnson's 'Klear', and the cracks painted in. The 'fresh powder snow' was made using talcum powder, which resists decomposition. Bicarbonate can, eventually, discolour, even when treated with hairspray, varnish or spray adhesive.
