**** DONE: 1/48 RAAF P-39 Airacobra A53-13 - Aircraft in Foreign Service GB

    User name: Hub
    Name: Michael
    Category: 2, Intermediate
Kit: Monogram 1/48 Scale P-39 Airacobra
    Scale: 1/48th.
    Accessories: Red Roo Decals

On loan from the USAAF the RAAF operated 22 P-39s from 1942 till October 1943 when they were returned to the US 5th Air Force
A53-13 was operated by 23 Squadron.

I was not sure if I was going to participate in this build as I couldnt really find a subject I 'liked. I was going to do a captured P-47 by the Luftwaffe but I was outbid on the decals which are out of print and hard to find. Then I came across this kit in my stash and found that a set of Red Roo decals was available (which arrived today!)
So I will give this one a go even if I am off to a late start.

I like your choice Michael looks like a nice little challenge.

    Thanks for the encouragment
Started this kit years ago but never really got any where with it , so I have basically started again.
repainted the cockpit and gun bay last night and added a map case to the starboard door. Have to find some missing bits from the gun bay before I can put the two halves together.
    Will post more later
    Cheers
    Mike
