1/32 Boeing P-12E - Your Favorite Aircraft of All Time GB

Boeing P-12E Skylarks Aerobatic Team, Maxwell Field Alabama 1937 Favorite Aircraft GB

    User Name: Hub
    Name: Michael
    Category: 2, Intermediate
    Model: P-12E
    Kit: Hasegawa Boeing P-12E
    Scale: 1/32
Accessories: Starfighter Decals and some scratch building

After much deliberating I have decided to attempt the Boeing P-12E.
The 1930's Air Corps is one of my favourite eras and Boeing my all time favorite manufactures.
I think this kit will represent a few firsts for me, first large biplane and first rigging attempt

Great stuff Michael, looks like you have set yourself some challenges here.

Decals just arrived, very nicely printed, hope to do the profile second on the left with the large 10 on the wing.
    Then again.....

Welcome to the GB, and a great choice. Should look nice in that scale too.

Slow progress, filled and sanded the joint line on the lower wing.
Used green putty one side and Mr Surfacer on the other to see which was better. Jury still out on that one
Carefully sanding trying to keep the contour of each rib structue, very tedious
Primed the wing after the photos were taken, still more sanding

Half of modelmaking usually is sanding, sanding, sanding...

Great choice mate, should be a sweet looking bird.
