Revell 1/48 B-17G "Chow Hound" Group Build.

Name: Harrison
Username: B-17engineer
Firm: Revell-Monogram
Scale:1/48
Accessories: none

This was the next build on my list so I thought since it was a bomber enter it as my 3rd and final entry. It may be done, may not be but I can try.

Chow Hound was shot down over France. I have to pull out the info for the story, not now though.

I did some work today with the interior. I really don't care how it looks since virutally none of it will be seen when she is closed up.

I hope to get it done and thanks...

Very nice. For masking I read you could use rubber cement and just peal it off later but I don't know yet. I intend to use it on the helicopter I'm building and share the results. On your bird do you know how old it was before it was shot down?

Dammit forgot. I will check tomorrow as in a few I am going to bed.

I can use liquid mask but this isn't a normal window so I think tape will be better.

Nice choice H. Say did you use your airbrush on the interior?

Side note on the interior, even though you might not see it, it still gives you great practice.

Yea I did you the airbrush for interior. Then I wanted to wash it. So I brushed everything else. I will give the interior a nice go but, if it doesn't go how I want I won't loose sleep over it.

Geez H, another one! Quite the production line you got going there.

Doesn't the paint all over your fingers bother you? A tip: paint fiddley crap on the sprue. Or...if it's off the sprue, cut off a piece of the sprue about 2" long, superglue it to the fiddley piece at a point where it won't be seen in the end (e.g under the seats) and hold the piece by the stick when you paint. When you're done and the paint is dry, just snap odd the sprue.

Keeping your hands and work area clean make for a better model in the end.

Thanks very much Andy. Well I put super glue in the wrong spot and wiped it with my finger and then just wiped paint with my finger at one point.

Thanks for the tip! Will try it today..

Can a mod sticky this???
