    Anyone have any pics or an idea on how to open up one of the panels to reveal the engine??? Did one of them hinge up or did the ground crew remove the panel and leave it on the ground??

    Dan, It looks the panels simply unbolted. Here's some pics but the first one is probably the best as it shows the panel lying on ground in the right foreground. I tossed in the cutaway drwing just for grins.

    THIS looks good if I can find a real pic of it... Cant find a ref pic though to confirm they actually did this...

    Nice one Dan. I'll bung some stuff (books etc) on a CD and send it this week.
    I might have a colour pic of Gabby's kite - I know I have some of others from the 56th - I need to do some hunting.
    Note that the paints used for the camouflage schemes were British (RAF) paints, and were Dark Green and Ocen Grey or Dark Sea Grey - again I'll find more details on this and include it with the CD.
