Thanks for the encouragement. For such a small subject there is an awful lot of filling and sanding to be done. Will update soon.

Unfortunately it is quite charakteristic for all Airfix models. But you are going well. Keep heading.

Coming along nicely. There is a lot of extra work on the old Airfix kits, but they can be made into a nice finished model with some work.

Have to agree with Glenn and it's worth the effort especially for an Aussie machine....................

Haven't had much time lately to spend modelling. Still in the process of filling and sanding. As said before its Airfix. The wing root joins are not panel lines as far as I can tell but they are as deep as and 4000 layers of Mr Surfacer hasn't helped. Should've used epoxy instead and might still have to. Will post an update soon. I hope......

    Cheers,
    David.

Sounds like you may have to use a bit of filler and sand it back.

Stretched sprue works pretty good depending on the gap. For really big gaps I use epoxy. Just be sure to trim it before it fully dries or there will be more sanding. Usually I use JB weld epoxy. Easy to use, easy to clean up.

If you're not sure practice on a spare spot. When I tried to do lines I put down a piece of tape to give me a straight edge and lightly drew it with a needle. Hope it helps.

Glad I could be of help. Just take it lightly and slowly David. Going too fast may get you off the track and an added scratch. If you do make a little flub, just run your finger nail over it to close it up and try again. Light scratches are forgiving but deep ruts are not.

Didnt have the time or the confidence to scribe the cowling. Hope to get time to paint her up tonight. Hope to be finished on time. I just sliced my finger open with a new scapel blade so now I have a handicap and a deadline.
