109 K4 ...Jg27 camo...(info request)

Dear Luft friends,

I got the following profile of a K4 of Jg27

SOURCE: Luftwaffe Squadrons 1939-45 by Chris Bishop

QUESTION.

Do we have any more information about jg27 (k4) camo? Actually I’m interested ιn that: did they manage to fly in Africa, or Mediteranean with the classic Jg27 camo (rlm79) white spinner etc. (stuped hope....)

Jg27 fought with K4 only at deffence of Germany? in 1944??? with the above camo?

Yes, JG 27 and its K-4s (by the time it got 109Ks) primarly fought in Western Germany in the Defense of the Reich. I suggest you get JaPo`s Bf 109K, Camo and Markings; there is really no better source on 109K paintschemes.

You are welcome mate.

Here I've uploaded two Bf109 of JG27 profiles both G10 and K4 version, I had found for you.

Hallo Akonti,

" K-4/G-10 with the monochrome Africa camo ", it sounds interesting but is not true.Don't get me wrong but it is impossible rather. The war in North Africa was ended in 1943,as memory serves. But Bf 109G-10 and K-4 were introduced to units in 1944, for instance III./JG27 was equipped with K-4 version in October 1944 and G-10 one went into production in November 1944.So this kind camo for the versions of Bf 109 hasn't been using at all.
For early Gustav versions up to G-6 it's possible and there are colour profiles for them.

smilings,
