Artifact of part of British Wing and part of Cocarde.

Hello for all members , i need your help , for this part of this part wing , dimension of this part is 52" X 15" , diameter of the remains of the cocarde is approximatly 50".remains of paint is blue and white,and piercing by two cartridges
can you tell me for what type of aircraft of WW2 , this part was recovered last year by a man who walk along the sea at the cost in the north of France! absolutly unbelievable but true !

What do you mean by cocarde?
I've heard of RAF WWII lower wing roundels being referred to as cockades but I'm not seeing a roundel anyway

I'm going to go with Hawker Hurricane port wing leading edge root section, there does appear to be a filler cap visible on some of your photos

English - cockade, French - cocarde.

Sorry for my poor language , yes cockade is cocarde in french !
no idea about this part of wing ? the man who found this part told me that's a piece of spitfire
just want to know the type of aeroplane and if this part of wing have or no serial number somewhere , but if that's yes where ?

Hi,
Correct....You should look for the small fabrication stamps. For example a Spitfire build at the factory at Castle Bromwich would have a small circular stamp with the lettercode VACB followed by a number. That will give you a good lead identifying the type of a/c. Use the link I include to our website and look at photo 11 to see what I mean.

On Saturday, August 13, 2005, the Arga performed the salvage of a RAF Spitfire LF MkIXe. The device was probably shot down by FLAK on 08/02/1945.

These stamps are quiet common on almost every part.
