JG 300 Defense of the Reich Band and nose recog panel on "Red 8"

Hi all,

Quick question-I was looking at photos of the FW190 "Red 8" flown by Mattheus Erhardt of II./Jg300.I was wondering, what exact color was the Defense of the Reich band on the JG300 Aeroplanes? I have read it was "Brick red", and it seems that this equates to "RLM 23", but was the band the exact same color as the red airplane numbers worn by 5 staffel? Also, did Red 8 wear the yellow under-nose recognition makings at all?

Also, does anybody know when JG300 changed to the blue-white-blue fuselage band?

Thanks!

It would be the same red as seen on Klaus Bretschneider's Fw190 (see appropriate thread) as Erhardt flew as his wingman in 5./JG 300. The undernose markings were red on Bretschneider's plane but Erhardt's didn't have it.

According to this site,

Reichsverteidigung

the change from red to blue-white-blue was ordered on Feb 20, 1945. If I am reading it right.
