    PBY camouflage

I discovered this PBY camouflage paint scheme drawing. It was applied to a VP-11 aircraft #11-P-12 stationed at NAS Kaneohe Bay Hawaii prewar. I think the aircraft is a PBY-3 model. This aircraft was destroyed 7 December 1941 at Kaneohe. Apparently only a couple of aircraft at Kaneohe had this color scheme applied. Most aircraft at Kaneohe had the usual white belly, light blue/grey top. I'm looking for any photographs of a PBY in this color scheme and any more info about this color scheme. I think it would look very inyteresting to see a PBY painted in this color.

I look at VP Navy to see if they had anything on this under the squadron history. here's the same aircraft in 1937 before that paint scheme was appiled.

Sweet posts guys - We have the evolution of the paint scheme on that one particular PBY! THAT is why I love it here!

    14. Avoid that destructive disease known as "tinkeritis;" when the motor is working satisfactorily, leave it alone.
