USN C-9 Nightingale - Aircraft of World War II

I am currently building a US Navy C-9.I've lots of photos,but only side views.Does anyone know if the wings are grey or natural metal ?

If I remember right the leading and trailing edges are polished and the center section of the wing is a light gray
