I always liked this one... and in fact met the pilot of that B-17 and got an autographed print a couple weeks ago.

Sorry about the multiple posts to threads, but I am not sure who is watching what...

Prompted by the tattoo discussions I saw here and at other forums, I started a blog featuring aviation and flight related tattoo work last week and I am currently seeking content. Since everyone here in these threads seems to have an interest, I figured it would be a good place to start.

First off, the website is located at Tattoos In Flight. I hope to post at least 2-3 times a week to keep some great content there... but I need your help!

If you have any aviation or flight related tattoos and want to feature them on the site, please send them to me at tattoosinflight@gmail.com and be sure to include:

- The name of the artist
- The name of the studio
- Location of the studio
- Website or email for the studio (in case anyone wants work from them)

Optionally, you can include:

- The story of why you got it
- Any other personal info (name, website, etc)

Again, if you are interested, please send them to me at tattoosinflight@gmail.com

Thanks!
Ryan K.

my tat of a B-17

I got this about 16 months ago. Tomorrow I have an appointment to get some more added. The artist is adding clouds and 2 P-51's...

After it heals a bit, I'll try to remember to post the update.

Knappy out of Des Moines did the B-17, but with gas so high, we had to find a closer artist. The new artist seems to be as excited as I am over this

Lord I hate tattoos, but that is actually damn good for a B-17G. The bad news, in 25 years it will look like a Beech Bonanza.

Matt

Yup Matt... you may be right about the "25 years" idea; but hey, I'll enjoy it while I can. My sister had the idea to go ahead and turn my moles into bombs tomorrow.
Good eye on the B-17 G recognition.
Call it a mid-life crisis, I am 48 yrs old. I work Hospice and occasionally I'll show the tat to one of my WWll hospice patients if he was in the USAAF. Even the ones with Alzheimers can usually identify the plane. If it brings a smile to even ONE WWll vet, then it is worth the chance of a beeched bonanza.
Keep "Em Flyin'!

Hopefully Shooshoo, the new artist can clean up the existing -17 and fix that warped rudder assembly..... Would really like to see it done with the -51s...
