    Hello,
    heres the info:

    P-40K-1-CU, 112 squardon, N.Africa, serial # FR259 call sign 'GA X'

    any pics you can provide of this particular aircraft would be greatly appreciated.

    A hard life indeed. it was used mainly for ground attack (which Smith had a knack for). but he did get 3 a2a kills with his P-40K-1-CU. Werner Schroer & Hans-Joachim Marseille were two he shot down over Libya, and a Me 323 over the Mediteranian. Smith was never shot down, but was forced to land after taking debris from bombing runs.

    Yeah, she probably spent more time on the repair blocks then actually flying.

    yep. the first two are P-40K-1-CU's and the third pic is a P-40E.

    They are two different aircraft
    the first has the short fuselage and fin strake of (one of) the versions of the P-40K, the last one is indeed a P-40E

    something like that thats what happens with low level bombing with
    500lb & the odd 1000lb bombs.
