| up-gunned B-17 photos? I read recently that some B-17s carried 6 or 8 more fifty calibers than normal on an experimental basis. Where and how were they mounted and are there any photos of one of these planes? |

  | There were a number of field modifications to standard B-17's. Old 666 was a great example. If I remember "Dogfights" correctly, she carried a total of 19 x .50 cal. I cannot seem to find a pic of her, but most/all of her singles were replaced with duals.
