    A Few US Navy Warbirds

I finally finished scanning in a bunch of airshow slides, and thought I'd go through the scans and pick out a few of the best shots to share with you folks. Here goes.

A couple of TBFs (could be TBMs I suppose), and one shot with a TBF and Douglass SBD:

Two F4U Corsairs (one with a three-bladed prop), and the second pic has an F6F tagging along:

Close-up of the Corsair with the three-bladed prop:

Couple more shots of that F6F:

That was such a good looking Hellcat. I painted my room in its colors. It's really, really too bad that one crashed a few years back.

If I'm not mistaken, The Avenger was lost to a fire on the runway a few weeks ago. Check with Evanglider but I believe it is the same craft.

Yeah, If I recall it hit some power lines on approach in 2005. wrecked the plane and killed the pilot.

The Avenger with the X2 on the tail is still around, as far as I know. Not sure about the white tailed one. I believe there are a handful of the Avengers left.

How about a nice, tight Grumman gaggle

I always forget how big the Hellcat is compared to its brethren.

Man, that IS a tight formation Eric! I like the Bearcat, and boy, does it look fast at low level - I gotta get my transparencies (those remaining) scanned and post some pics!
