Halifax memorial at Silverstone

As most of you will probably know, Silverstone circuit was once a RAF BC aiirfield in WW2.

Not much remains of course. But there is this memorial stone and plaque for a Halifax crew who crashed nearby.

Interesting! I asked about the history of Silverstone in WW2 about a year back and no-one responded. Cool!

Monza racetrack was a tank dump for the Allies from '43-'45
My Grandad was in the Ordnance Corps in Italy and was based there for quite a while- his office was right on the top of the main stand!
