Really? If you were in a contest why shut down two engines on one side?

Buffnut: the text on picture 1 says the Lancaster won when it shut down a third engine.

Matt: I suppose if we were experienced four-engined bomber pilots and there on the day, we'd probably understand why they shut down two engines on one side.
