| B-25B Fuel Tank Info needed Need to know the fuel capacities of the B-25 [B] Mitchell Bomber. One source lists 2 front tanks of 173 gallons each - total 346 gallons 2 rear tanks of 150 gallons each - total 300 gallons Total capacity = 646 gallons. Another source lists 2 front tanks of 184 gallons each- total 368 gallons 2 rear tanks of 162 gallons each - total 692 gallons Total capacity= 692 gallons I'm trying to verify which fuel gauge is original the the B-25 B Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. 48marine |

Hint - the smaller capacity will always be "useable" fuel.....

| Hello: My sources are the actual gauges. Both are are said by the owners to be B-25B gauges. Very few B model B-25's were manufactured and I'm guessing it's unlikely different size fuel tanks were used. I did an internet search and found sites indicating either might be correct. I'm trying to verify which is correct for the B-25B used by the AAF in the US (specifically those used in the Doolittle Raid). |

| "Shooter" ![]() | I would check with Joe Baugher's info. He is usually pretty accurate and has great resources. http://home.att.net/~jbaugher2/b25_4.html
