B-37 Firebrand - Aircraft of World War II

Just came across this plane, the Blackburn B-37 Firebrand. How much service did it see and was it successful?

From what I read it really did not do that much. The RN wanted to combine a lot into one aircraft. The resunt, 4x20mm cannons and a big torpeado but it was never a good carier landing plane and had some other problums. I hope this helps.

that's always been the FAA's big problem, a plane that can do different things, the firefly was moderatly successfull as a recon-fighter................

There's a Firefly currently undergoing restoration, near where I live.
It doesn't look like it'll be completed any time soon, though. It's all volunteer work, and the thing sat at the bottom of a harbour for the better part of 60 years.

Because I wouldn't know what the hell I was doing.
The guys that volunteer over there are all former RCN airframe and aero-engine techs.
