Question Can Anyone ID This Plane??

There's a group of photo's circulating through e-mail, which show the camoflaging of Lockheed during WWII. I assume many if not most of you are familiar with these photo's. The last photo in the series I just reviewed, shows what appears to be a 4 engine, low wing, tricycle gear, aircraft with a triple rudder configuration (see photo below). I don't even have a guess what this is, but since I'm not an expert that's no surprise.

It's a Constellation mate Potted History here:

Lockheed Constellation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That would date the pic to some time during or after 1943. BTW, very nice pic, some good wallpaper material that! Oh, and welcome aboard!

Of course, of course. I should have known that. My first commercial flight was on a super G Connie from LaGuardia to San Francisco. My mind was just focussed on this being a WWII photo, so I was trying to make that thing into a bomber. Thanks for the quick response.

Just to get technical, with all the other AAF aircraft in the hanger, probably a C-69.
