Lancaster loss

23 December 1943, Berlin raid, Lancaster JB611 AR*R of 460 Sqn RAAF, captain Edward Corser, failed to return.
Corser and all crew KIA; he is buried in garrison cemetery Doberitz.
Only 15 Lancs lost that night but possibly he was lost to AA.
any information on this loss please?

Hi Lex,

My records show that Lancaster B Mk III. serial JB611 coded AR-R of 460 squadron was lost on the night 2-3 December 1943

It was a bad night for for 460 squadron, as they lost 5 lancasters on that night mission to berlin.

The details on JB611 are patchy to say the least - All I can confirm is that it took off from RAF Binbrook & crashed near Doberitz. (records from the national archives at Kew)
