| Late J2F Duck on carriers Sirs! I know the late Ducks (J2F-5, 6) operated from aircraft carriers, more than - I have some photos of this aircraft onboard USS Wasp (CV-7), USS Charger and USS Altamatha. But markings of this planes is not completely clear to me: in most cases there are no visible BuNos (in some cases this is only (except service name and type) inscriptions on J2F). In case of J2F from Wasp utility squad I know serial (from crash log) and layout of national insignia (from photo of this or similar a/c), but dont know, does Wasp's wartime J2F had any inscriptions on fuselage (like "USS Wasp", plane number, etc). If anyone familiar with carrierborne Duck, can he provide me with this or similar info? I need a photo of J2F-5-6, attached to carrier, where all markings on aircraft visible or, at least, known... |
