P-51D-5NT's shot down by the Luftwaffe

Can anyone please provide me with serial numbers of any P-51D-5NT or P-51D-20NA Mustangs that were shot down by the Luftwaffe?



edit: Any crashes due to mechanical failure that occurred en route on a mission in the European theater would also help.

All 355th FG during and post war. No -5Nt's or -20NA's were shot down by Luftwaffe in air to air combat - only one lost in air to air was MiG15 in 1951 and maybe UFO over Kentucky in 1948.

Why?

FYI the 355th FG lost 42 aircraft (10 P-47s, 26 P-51B, 6 P-51D) air to air vs LW for 356 Victory credits - but lost 90 (1 P-47, 89 P-51s) to German flak for 509 ground credits, with air to air ratio definitely better than ground scores.

what details are you looking for - I have Macrs for the ones lost to German action.

For now, any further info you have on 44-64011 that crashed at Ansbach on 45-04-08 would be much appreciated.
