The Mk. Vb had a Merlin 45 V-12 engine with 1440 HP. The Mk. IX had a Merlin 61 V-12 engine with 1565 HP.

I got a source here that list the Vb as 1,585 hp and the Vc as 1,470 hp. The cause of the confusion could be do to altitude or which stage the Merlin's blower was in. Both of those would affect hp.

You sure that the Mk Vb with the 1585HP wasen't the LF one because they had a stronger engine?

And i'm not looking for the HP when they had boost on, just when they flew normal... not panic HP.

International rating 1,200hp at 2,850rpm at 16,000ft
Max power 1,470hp at 3,000rpm at 9,250ft

Merlin 46

International rating 1,115hp at 2,850rpm at 19,000ft
Max power 1,415hp at 3,000rpm at 14,000ft

Ok, that makes sense. But the blower isn't WEP power, that is just the supercharger kicking in.

Since it says 1,470hp at 3000rpm you're 20hp OFF...
