| Wellington Bomber W5395 Hi there - my Great Uncle has sadly passed away aged 87 years - he crashed in France in his 12 Squadron Wellington Bomber in the early hours of the 2nd April, 1942 and was taken prisoner from then until the end of the war. He never spoke about it and was a quiet and unassuming man. Has anyone ever seen a photo of this aircraft? Thanks F16 |

| I have found this, a wellington crashed of the 2nd April, 1942 in Andrésy in the Yvelines (48° 59' 41" N 2° 1' 54" E ), juste one survivor, Christopher Maltby. I don't know if it's your aircraft. Aérosteles : Wellington 2 avril 1942 (X9814) |

| Hi F16, I've looked at my database & have the same information thats on the link provided by A4K's posting above. Celerite, the photos that you have, are of a different wellington bomber also lost 2 Apr 1942. Your one was a wellington Mk Ic of 150 squadron bomber command RAF Serial No X9814 coded JN-O, Took off from Snaith @ 19:30hrs on a mission to poissy. A/c crashed near Villacoublay, Paris The other 5 crew died & are buried in Les Gonards Communal Cemetery at Versailles. Sgt C W Maltby survived the crash & became a prosoner of War. Regards Legion
