The cockpit of a Miles Master advanced trainer. Developed by Miles as a private venture because the Air Ministry of the day saw no need for such an advanced trainer, it first flew on 3 June 1937. The Air Ministry finally ordered the type in June 1939, but requested lower performance engines making it some 70 mph slower than the fighters of the day.
