PACIFIC FORTRESS (B_17)

The same journey than the (Liberty Belle) from U.S.A to Australia.

Flying a B17 across the Pacific is a totally stupid stunt.

So much can go wrong and we will all lose a rare B17.

.."And risk all"..was an apt comment.
If they're really going to do it, I hope it works out alright - there are so few of these things flying as it is.

I have mixed emotions about this.

On one hand, it would bring some nice publicity to the bomber and WWII aviation as a whole. Generating more interest would be a nice thing to happen. It could lead to better attendance at air shows, a better influx of cash, and a higher interest in restoration and preservation.

But, I 100% agree with Syscom. The B-17's, and all WWII birds, have put in their time. They don't need to be making 1000 mile trips anymore and we sure would hate to lose another plane.
