| 2nd November 1944, 65 years ago..... remember the fallen from this epic air battle when the two LW Sturmgruppen : IV.Sturm/JG 3 took on the 91st bomb group and II. Sturm/JG 4 took on the 457th bomb group in the air operation(s) over Merseberg. what a hell-hole for both sides.... there are plenty of on-line articles for both bomb groups, first hand stories-accounts and even our very own member, B-17sam was there. RIP E ~

| the US 20th fg claimed some 28 LW craft and the 352nd fg claimed some 39. I personally believe that many US bombers hit by Flak were actually attacked by the heavy 2cm / 3cm's Minengeschoß rounds of the SturmFw's. no doubt the 91st and the 457th bg's gave great account of themselves the two Fw units lost a host of a/c
