Hello:

I am trying to confirm if this is an accurate list or not of medium bomber units from the USAAF and the RAF DAF that took part in the bombing raids on Monte Cassino.

RAF DAF: RAF No. 232 Wing ( RAF's No 55, 18, 114,) Aircraft assigned were the Baltimore Mk IV and Mk V for No. 55 and Boston Mk III for 18 and 114 sqn's.

SAAF No. 3 Wing (SAAF No. 12, 21, and RAF No. 223). Aircraft assigned were
No. 12 ?, No. 21 with Baltimore Mk ? and No. 223 with Baltimore IV.

Please note that I am lacking information for the USAAF other then medium bomber units from the 12th Air Force. I do know that they would have been B25 and B26's.

Thank you for any assistance.

Michael

my father was a navigator on a B-26. He completed 32 missions. He told me once he was a lead navigator on the Monte Casino raid. He died at 89 about 4 years ago. About 23 years ago he sat down in front of my video camera and talked for 2 hours about his life. He mentioned his bomb group as something like the 358th but I may be wrong on that.

I don't know how to do that. I am not real proficient in these matters. It's also on VHS tape.
