Just curious if anyone else has a relative of theirs that flew in WWII...

My Grandfather was Bill Case, or William Northrop Case... He flew with VMF-122, 112, and 214 (Black Sheep) and had 8 confirmed kills...

One Grandad of mine was in the Chindits in Burma. I had a Great Uncle in Malta, RAF Engineer. And I don't know about others.

I'd had an uncle who fought in the Buldge and another relative (I'm not sure what exactly, I only met him once) who fought on The Island.

Thats what Im talkin about Erich... Very interesting... Some of the stories my Grampa told me about Boyington were real interesting, and quite funny...

And the Baa Baa Black Sheep show was a slap in the face for him...

guys sorry for my poor spelling. got in late last night from a long cycling trip..........

Hans Baer lost power in his left engine and as the Bf110G-4 banked downward on the left he ordered an immediate bailout. His radar operator and rear gunner made a safe bail and landing but Hans could not get out of the cockpit in time and the a/c fell like a heavy stone...........

Lanc, yes another relative in which I have at least a 4 inch folder thick on was another cousin on my mothers side, Unteroffizier Siegfried Baer with the day time staffel 5./JG 301 lost on 26 November 1944 battling B-24's south of Misburg/Hannover. He possibly had 3 missions under his belt but no victories that I can find. thanks for asking............
