| I'd had an uncle who fought in the Buldge and another relative (I'm not sure what exactly, I only met him once) who fought on The Island.

Country: | guys sorry for my poor spelling. got in late last night from a long cycling trip..........
Hans Baer lost power in his left engine and as the Bf110G-4 banked downward on the left he ordered an immediate bailout. His radar operator and rear gunner made a safe bail and landing but Hans could not get out of the cockpit in time and the a/c fell like a heavy stone...........
Lanc, yes another relative in which I have at least a 4 inch folder thick on was another cousin on my mothers side, Unteroffizier Siegfried Baer with the day time staffel 5./JG 301 lost on 26 November 1944 battling B-24's south of Misburg/Hannover. He possibly had 3 missions under his belt but no victories that I can find. thanks for asking............
