that gentleman with glasses is Mr. Brown and the other one is Herr Stiegler. On the pic bellow with 2 young guys is Herr Stiegler.

and believe it or not the story is not so exceptional, there are at least 2-3 others besides the night fighters pulling back and not whailing on RAF heavies that were under duress. I cannot say though as fact whether or not the crews from both sides ever met except for one special case and that was Herr Peter S. who met the RAF crew that he shot down on his trip to England some years ago.

Peter told me it was quite a reunion

Who says that chivalry and gallantry are dead?

Yesterday I saw a video on a Youtube where Croatian soldiers rescue a wounded Serbian soldier from the forest. During Yugoslav civil war. Those were true soldiers not some hired guns whose mission was to kill everyone in their sights.

I salute to both Brown and Franz.
