curious - it looks like American GI's around the P-61 and I notice the right prop is feathered. Since I didn't read the article in German - is it possible that the P-61 made it back to Allied lines, attempted a landing and the nose gear failed?

yes several articles actually in my possession along with the last which was the US pilots daughters account from her Father, variations from both sides as to what happened but the Us Widow pilot freely admits he got in way too close and lucky to have cracked up and downed and KIA
