| Charles Fauvel 1904-1979 French flying wings About the same time the Horten brothers were experimenting with their flying wing design, and still years before Messerschmitt introduced the Me.163 Komet, a Frenchman named Charles Fauvel was also conducting experiments with his own flying wing designs. I recently came across this website a while ago and it is very intersting. Apparently, some of his designs are still flying. Biography: Charles Fauvel and his flying wings Fauvel aircraft, the AV-2 and AV-3 being his earliest designs from 1932-33: Charles Fauvel and his Flying Wings YouTube vid showing the AV-36 flying: YouTube - Fauvel AV-36 C1 The same in RC kit form: YouTube - Fauvel AV36

| Hi Arsenal, >About the same time the Horten brothers were experimenting with their flying wing design, and still years before Messerschmitt introduced the Me.163 Komet, a Frenchman named Charles Fauvel was also conducting experiments with his own flying wing designs. Here is a shot of the Fauvel AV36 preserved at the Deutsches Museum, Flugwerft Oberschleißheim ... Regards, Henning (HoHun) |
