Could the Hayate Frank out turn a Spitfire?

On Wikipedia ,on the topic about the "Fank", it says it could out turn a Spitfire.
I guess the Zero wasn't the only Jap plane that could do it.

The turn rate was one of the best things the Spit had going for it. In Europe, it's tight turn was perhaps it's best manuever in dealing when with a FW. It certainly was one of it's best ways to win a dog fight.

So what do you think? Was the Spitfire matched by it or maybe outmatched?

It could out turn the spitfire, as could many of the early war, lightweight fighters the japanese produced. It was the tight turning abilities and medium to low speeds that made them deadly to the allies, with generally heavier aircraft early on. The Hyabusa, or oscar, had special "butterfly" flaps enabling it to out-turn almost anything. The japense put much emphasis on the turning ability of fighters...they wanted dogfighters, not "dive and climb, slashers".

And all that said guys Like Saburo Sakai and his mates still mostly made singluar passes from an altitude advantage on enemy aircraft to defeat them.
