Interesting, particularly the message

"CIZ OP AT 21R00 FROM JERYA RYA SN UOT"

or

"CIZ OP AT 21R00 FROM JE RYA RYA SN UOT"

My husbands uncle was on this flight. We are looking for family members of those who were on board. Does anybody have any information regarding the missing Dakota flight VH CIZ missing after leaving Ambon heading toward Darwin on 19 December 1945?

You beat me to it!

Soundbreaker, Darwin received meassages for a few days saying "alive... all alive" and "waiting to be picked up". The signal was distorted though and they couldn't get the GPS coordinates. Probably died of dehydration after a few days.

Does anyone have a new link to this, because I think that one is bad. I'd like to learn about this.

Thank you, we are mother and daughter trying to find other families of those on the plane. We noted that the link did not work, but thought we would get onboard and see if we could find anything or anybody who knows anything about this. Thanks guys.

Our plan is to try to get somebody/anybody, army/ RAAF/ to help us mount a search for the missing plane and anything we can find of the occupants of the plane. Being our ANZAC centenary we feel this would be the opportune time to try to follow up on this tragedy. Hoping there are other family members who may feel the same.

We have all the transcripts from the search and post hearings.

We now have a Facebook page "Search for the CIZ.

A number of the men were from Queensland. We will try to put the individual states up, have only just found where they enrolled, today. If you could check out the f/b page and post to your page, it may reach somebody.

Thanks for the interest.

Welcome to the forum seagreen and good luck with your search. If you check this thread every few months, you may get some answers. People may see this and post months or years from now. We have a few threads that are like this and you would be surprised who pops up!

I can certainly see what you mean. The original posting was October 2006, and here we are... popping in in Jan 2013. Must have been a bit of a surprise for those of you who originally posted. Would love to have seen what the original link had behind it!

Patience and perseverence...

Already through Ancestry.com we have found one relative, just waiting for a response.
