HEY ALL

Im looking for any imformation besides wiki on VMF-222 The Flying Deuces. Its not a big name squadron but they were in the Pacific during the Guadacanal and Okinawa time frame. Also they had Aces in the squad such as, Pappy, Ken Walsh, Donald Sapp. Any leads to information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Was to me too, Thorlifter. But this interview with Boyington seems to confirm it.

Yeah I guess it was when he jacked up his ankle. (drunken binge ) So I am trying to get as much info about them as possible. I did speak with a gentleman that was a pilot with them during then and he says that there only 4 of them left. Its really sad. Sikorsky did hold a reunion for them back in '07 I believe, took them for a tour of the plant and gave them plaques and model planes that they made for them. Wish I knew about it I would of gone its only like 2 hr drive for me.

Thanks for the acceptance, its nice to chat with you all.
