Senior Master Sergeant
Hello,

a friend of mine dug out some insignia close to the spot where one US bombardier hit the ground after he fell out of his B-17, probably KIA aboard.
Can anyone tell me if those insignia were issued by the USAAF or not?
Thank you in advance!

I was thinking the same thing about wing insignia Piet. And one of those coins displays Slovakian coat of arms...
Very interesting find Roman.

Interesting find there Roman, looks like you might have a Luftwaffe Flakartillerie officers chevrons. These were found up on the hill, yes? Two of the items look like cartridge cases made into tools, or possibly cigarette lighters. one of the cases at least is a 'Drill' round, inert, for loading, unloading pratcice. That's the one with the indented 'channels' up the length of the case.
