ME262 Reidel starter motor

Anyone have schematics/drawings of the Riedel starter motor? Have a couple, and a great many parts. Would like to get at least one back to running condition.

FYI correct spelling is Riedel not Reidel.

A lot of the Riedels ended up in racing Karts. A classic Kart forum if such a thing exists might be a good place for info.

It was a two stroke motor derived from a motorcycle engine. It did have an electric start however backup ring pulls figured prominantly.

Fuel for the Riedel was contained in a toroidal tank in the inlet nose cone. A second torroidal tank contained a starting fluid for the
Jumo 004 jet engine. After starting the Jet was switched to a diesel like fuel. Some Me 262 missions (according to Anthony Kay)
were flown with crude oil refined by a centrifugal impellor only, heated up and pumped aboard.

Did you ever get schematics of the Riedel ? Did you try to run it ? I noticed in one of you pics you fitted a proper carb. Looks to me that the original ran at a constant and high speed - no butterfly in the carb. I have one of these also and recently purchased "most' of an engine from ebay.
