| I'm sorry, the word I was looking for was sarcasm with my post.

| On a serious note, Hitler's insistance on the use of the Me 262 as a fighter-bomber, while not having a major effecton on development, did have a significant effect on the number of Me 262's to see use as interceptors. (even though the first Schwalbe deliveries did precede the first Sturmvogel ones) |

| True Kool. When first put into production, about 50 were made as interceptors when Hitler asked how many were bombers. When finding out that none were he went into a rage and ordered all to made into bombers which slowed the program because of the modifications. Except one unit was kept to explore the fighter concept and Galland finally convinced Hitler to allow fighters. It eventually ended up with an order of something like every fifth 262 would be a fighter - or something to that effect. But add that to the engine problems, pilot training (especially getting former bomber pilots to understand dogfighting and not level flight) and other worries, it wasn't the only reason for the 262's slow trek to operations. But it did help significantly.
