Country: | i don't see the facination with the shark mouths, particularly on the P-40, they rarely do a great deal to improve the looks of an aircraft and the P-40 is no exception, she looks ok with or without..........

Country: | Not a chance. That front end screams for a sharks mouth. I've always thought the F-16 looked like a shark with the long snout and open mouth below. I think the Viper was misnamed.

| Although less apt, "Viper" apparently won out over "Vagina Ripper" |

Country: | ju87 stuka with the cannons on the wings looks bad, sounds bad and if your on the ground watching it come down Is BAD! And the b25 with 12 foward firing .50s The typhoon with the cannon pods is pretty mean also. As well as the 190 in the bomber attack setup. |

Country: | O.k here's what I think, P40s Fw190s mosquitos all a little too smooth, sleek,
cool looking, I'm kinda on the fence about the Stuka. And RafAce are you kidding?, a spit? like the most pleasing shape to come out of manned flight. jabberwocky Typhoon goood I was gonna list it myself, Short Sterling, flights ugliest plane doing aviations ugliest job, perfect. I was not familiar w/ ME264
whew thats one fearsome looking dude. Lanc, Avenger a fat bird heavy with
kipper, I like it. I'm curious about Cr32's, and Ki102s, please post some shots
or links, as I'm not sure I know the types. As a parting shot. What about the P 61?, its thick black, has a nose like DeGaulle, and a goiter w/ 4 M.Gs on its back. Ugly enough to foul up the twin boom planform.

Country: | Jets are ok [quote=Jabberwocky;218257]Typhoon Mk I and Mk Ib: HTML Code: Su-25: a plane that was just meant to have a sharkmouth painted on it Apart from the A-10 this is the most pugelistic looking jet I can think of.

F6Fs have a certain grace, a flow of line if you will. Lots of big guns, don't in and of themselves qualify either. I'm speaking
of airborne bogeymen, an aesthetic exercise for sure, but its the sense that makes a spitfire or lockheed constellation to be unilaterally hailed as beautiful.

Country: | well now guess I could post this of the bomber killer Bf 110G-2 of ZG 26 . ugly but hard hitting enough .......... in 43 early 44 and even in the summer of 44 with II./ZG 1. Can tell you they made a lasting impression on many US bomber crews to this day |

| I think the Lancaster looks like it would have excelled in the role of Sewage Airlift and Disposal (SAD). You could just see them pumping like 2,500 gallons of latrine waste into a big tank in her bomb bay.
The British would have fared better with our more rugged and combat worthy B-17's and B-24's.

Hope Lanc didn't hear that. |
