RAF Acklington Northumberland - Aircraft of World War II

Where do I look to find out how many Aircraft got shot down by aircraft from this station. My father told me of a German aircraft being shot down after trying to 'shoot up' the railway. He also tells a tale of being shot at while riding on a Muck Spreader... that may be stretch of his imagination.
