| RS-82 rockets.... How many was downed or damaged by these rockets? Ofw Johann Eibl, 2/KG-77 Ju 88 (lost MIA). MIA 3 May, 1942 after being attacked by two I-16's of 630 IAP while he was attacking the Soblago rail line. With both engines smoking from RS-82 rocket damage, he and R/O Uffz Anton Hagel made a force landing in a field near Yamishche, 10 miles NW of Andreapol. The two disappeared into a forest, and are still missing to this day.

| Senior Member | I have heard several accounts of German aircraft being downed by these rockets. More than I expected yet I cannot give you any idea of how many were downed in total. I also doubt that reliable figures exist about this. All in all the RS-82 was inaccurate just like other unguided rockets until the R4M (of which one version was based on the RS-82) appeared. Kris
