Spitfires in Medirerranean

Hello, folks

Would you be so kind to provide some info about the Spitfires that were involved in Mediterranean theater during the WWII?
I'm interested in versions/marks, date of arrival, date until they were around etc. Thanks in advance.

First deployment of Mk V Spitfires was to Malta via HMS Eagle in March 1942. First batch was Spitfire Vb.
First deliveries to the Desert Air Force was in April 1942, again with tropicalized Mk Vb's.
Seems that the Vc variant eventually became the predominant one sent to the Mediterranean.
The Mk V was used right up to the invasion of Sicily, with units switching to Mk IX and VIIIs as the Italian campaign unfolded.

The Spitfires of Gozo: USAAF Fighter Squadrons in Malta, 1943

No, it's not. Just a typo.
