| Yeap same here. Does anyone have any info on the Tail Warning Radar such as how accurate it was or failure to detect rates?

| That I did not know either. Did not know much about the Tail Warning system in WW2.

| Senior Member | I'll have to find this little snippet from an article I have on a Mustang pilot, in it he complains about the system when in formation. But it was a life saver.

| I can understand the formation thing. That would piss me off also, everytime some one in my formation came into the arch it would warn me! That would suck.

| Junior Member | I'm no expert myself.. both of those seem good for the role, but I think the P-51D is better for escorts.

| The P-47N had a tail warning radar as well. You can see the antenna for it on either side of the fillet ahead of the rudder.
