More of an engine enthusiast (diesel particularly) than an aircraft enthusiast, myself. WW2 aircraft yielded some of the most interesting engine designs of our time. I'm a great fan of the RR Merlin, DB 600 series and the Junkers diesel engines, but I am especially fond of all the 'failed' designs, with novel solutions and radical outputs. The Napier Nomad, other unproduced diesels, and the Rolls-Royce Crecy fascinate me a lot.
