| New - so hi I have just joined, so i am saying hello. I have an avid interest in all things military (and wargaming), especially WW2. Up untill now it has been mostly land based but i purchased a set of rules from 2 fat lardies called "Bag the Hun" which has sparked a fire to learn more about airwarfare. I am planning on purchasing some model planes to refight the Battle of Britain, maybe 1/300th scale or 1/600 but until i do then i had hoped to find somewhere to download top down colour (not color!) views of some aircraft. I would also like some recomendations for general books on the subject of WW2 airwarfare. Sorry for the long intro - i will shut up and lurk for a while - Tally Ho! |

| Hi !!! Welcome to the forum,Report2me4. I think that Loomaluftwaffe is right and you should consider the 1:72 scale as he recommended.

| Senior Member | Definitely 1:72, can you even get planes at 1:300?

| In an ideal world 1/72nd would be lovely but for wargaming large actions of a couple of squadrons of fighters against a formation of bombers plus escort it poses a few space problems - i would need a sports hall to play and a hanger to store all the stuff! You can even get 1/1200 scale planes but even thats a bit tiny for me. No 1/300 scale planes are common for wargaming and some are beautiful considering their size - please see link P-47 Thunderbolt |

| Wow not much detail with that scale. Just go and buy those little metal things that come in packages at toy stoys. I have seen Spitfires, Bf-109s, Fw-190s and P-51s.
