diorama questions

Im starting to put together a diarama and I need some advice.
The setting is from a hidden german airstrip which some of the newer Me 262s are being kept, the allies have found where it is and began to plan a raid.
So basically Id like to know some of the planes I can include on the allies and for the germans.
Im not an expert by any means Id like to make it as realistic as possible.
What are some planes I could include.
So far I have the ME 262a-1 and ME 262a-2 as well as a Focke wulf fw190-d9
I want to get some planes from the same "era". which allied planes would be good to go against them, bombers with fighters escorting.
Thanks in advance!

Well, I know how to build one, I just want to know which planes would work well together and be more realistic, its more of a general question then a diarama question.

Not sure how you want to lay it out, but on the allied side you have many planes you could use.

P-51
Mosquito
Tempest
P-47
B-17
Lancaster
Hurricane

That should give you a good start.

Your best bet would probably to do Jagdverband 44, because you have the Me 262s as the main fighters, with the red-bottomed Fw-190D-9s flying cover as they take off and land.

But are you doing the actual airfield with just German planes, or are you also doing an air scene with Allied planes?

Thanks for the replies, I'll have the german airfield with some me 262s on the ground and perhaps one in the air. Then some focke wulfs in the air going after the oncomming allies. Should be fun

Ooh, it'd be neat to see a 1/48 one, but yeah it'll be large!

Well, I can't wait to see this either because that's going to be one hell of a diarama.

What is your estimated build time?

Do you have anything besides the hangars for the ground, as in the odd troop/ground crew?

nope I need some troops on the ground yet, I will need some fences and oil drums and all that great stuff. Build time is unknown at this point. It looks like it will be just me building most of it, although I do have a fair amount of spare time on my hands

Seriously doubt you'd see many Tempests around 8th AF aircraft at that time or aircarft other then American as they would IMHO from what I've learned victims of friendly fire the differnt forces tended to work in different areas
